Bringing people and animals together for growth & wellbeing
In addition to this I also hold qualifications in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, Child and Adolescent, Relational Counselling and Animal Assisted Therapy. I have been working in the counselling industry for over 10 years working privately, within schools and alongside a large national charity and a regional charity. My passion is empowering clients to have a voice and deeper understanding of their experiences and emotional well-being by creating a safe space for them to navigate to their best outcomes.
My core approach is integrative, which means that I can tailor therapy to the individual, tapping into their interests as I strongly believe that no one size fits all. I am a trained Animal Assisted Therapy Practitioner working with two Therapy Dogs and I have extensive experience in creating, facilitating and delivering group interventions as well as working with individuals, couples, children and young people both face to face and online.
In my career thus far, I have worked with a range of difficulties including self-harm, PTSD, stress and trauma, crisis, grief and loss, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger management, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and Adverse Childhood Experiences.
I understand that seeking therapy is a very personal experience and it’s important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and that your therapist can meet your needs. Because of this, I offer a free, no obligation 20-minute consultation to explore if I can help and support you.
As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, I am an Accredited registered member of BACP. I completed my Level 5 diploma in CBT in 2016, a Specialist Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy in 2023 and more recently my Clinical Supervision qualification.
Our Services
What we do:
-
Counselling falls under the umbrella term ‘talking therapies’ and allows you to discuss your problems and any difficult feelings you may be experiencing in a safe, confidential space.
-
Animal Assisted Therapy is a therapeutic intervention that incorporates our two therapy dogs into the session. It is used to enhance and compliment the benefits of traditional therapy.
-
Psychotherapy works with the lasting impact of trauma. This is when stressful events that you experience or witness make you feel unsafe, helpless or vulnerable. We will work together to think about what has happened to you, not what is wrong with you. The focus is on compassion listening and understanding rather than making a diagnosis.
-
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and helps us to feel less overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. When we’re mindful, we are less stressed, it can enhance performance and helps us gain insight and awareness through observing our own mind, and increase our attention to our well-being.
-
At Eden, we are really passionate about tailoring therapy to suit you as an individual, so whatever your interests are, we can create a bespoke package that meets your needs.
-
Clinical supervision is a formal, collaborative process in which a qualified supervisor supports a counsellor or therapist to reflect on their practice, enhance their professional development, and ensure safe, ethical, and effective client care. Through regular supervision sessions, counsellors discuss their client work, explore challenges, receive feedback, and consider their own emotional responses and wellbeing.
I also offer clinical supervision to SLT staff in educational settings to manage workloads and avoid burnout.

How we do it:
-
Our therapy room is situated in Wyle Cop, central Shrewsbury. There is ample parking and public transport routes.
-
If you are unable to make a face to face appointment, we can meet virtually as an alternative.
-
If you are unable to make a face to face appointment, we can talk over the phone as an alternative.
-
Walking and talking during outdoors in nature, rather than being restricted in a therapy room. Walking next to each other, side-by-side, can for some feel more equal and less formal. However, walking isn’t a must, sitting down somewhere in nature is also an option. It means doing therapy outdoors, in nature, often including or bringing nature and movement into the sessions.
Walk and talk therapy is part of the eco-psychotherapy umbrella, which is the combination of ‘ecology’ and ‘psychotherapy’ or ‘psychology’.
Often in walk and talk therapy we may begin grounding (or earthing). Grounding offers many health benefits, including improved sleep, reduced inflammation, improved tissue and cell repair, enhanced blood flow, increased heart rate variability, and improved electrical activity in the brain. In addition, walking barefoot on the ground releases endorphins
